The Theatre Museum
The Theatre Museum is the national museum of the Performing Arts. Situated in the heart of London's theatreland, it houses the world's leading collection of material relating to the British stage. All the live performing arts are represented, including drama, dance, opera, musical theatre, circus, puppetry, music hall and live art. The Theatre Museum is in Covent Garden and right next to The Royal Opera House and round the corner from The Theatre Royal, Drury Lane which is currently playing The Producers. The nearest tube station is Leicester Square. The Theatre Museum is now closed to the public but there are arranged group tours.
The Theatre Museum is managed by the V & A and it is possible the exhibits will be transferred to the V & A building at some time in the future.
