History comes to life in this childhood home of Anne Boleyn (King Henry VIII’s second wife and mother of Queen Elizabeth the First.

The oldest part of the castle was built around 1270. About 200 hundred years later the Bullen family added a comfortable Tudor mansion inside the protective wall.  Finally in 1903 the Castle was bought by William Waldorf Astor who lavished millions of dollars on restoring the castle itself and filling it with treasures.

How to get there: By road by the motorway M25, exit at junctions 5 or 6. Hever Castle is situated 3 miles south east of Edenbridge, 30 miles from London. 30 minutes from Gatwick, 1 hour from Heathrow, 1 1/2 hours from Folkestone and Dover. By rail London Victoria to Edenbridge Town (3 miles from the castle - taxis available or Hever Station (1 mile rural walk to castle - no taxis available.
